I sort of wish winter would hurry up and return, so I can hunker down and write again.
Since publishing Appalachia & Bluegrass Country this spring, it's been all about promoting books and chatting with people at events: events in DC, events all around Virginia, an upcoming event at Iowa's gargantuan RAGBRAI. I do mostly enjoy it, finding that lugging around printed volumes and setting up tents is about the same amount of exercise as pedaling all day on a touring bike, and I meet about the same amount of interesting folks... and even sell a few books, to boot.
Below you'll see my new helper and promoter, Banjo. I hope you'll come give him a pat and visit a while with me if you find a CWU event scheduled near you, which usually appear on the Spoke & Word Books website, spokewordbooks.com
Upcoming quiet woodstove days with Banjo and Prairie Heartland are definitely floating in my dreams. Until then, the events continue.
